Will it work with Brio and other Wooden Railway systems?
Yes. It is compatible with Brio.  It is compatible with the majority of wooden railway systems as well (Melissa and Doug and more).

I started with the Take Along Thomas collection. Is the Wooden Railway system compatible?
No. The Take Along Thomas Engines and the older Ertl die-cast engines are a bit smaller and do not fit on the wooden railway tracks well.

Should I glue or nail my track down to a board or something?
I wouldn't recommend it but some people do. You will see it set up this way in retail stores simply to keep it all together (especially when lots of kids use it daily). However, part of the fun (and learning) for the kids is laying out the tracks in new and different ways. When they are younger (2 yrs old), they might (or might not) enjoy you putting the track up so they can run the engines on them. As they get older they have as much or more fun building their own layouts.

What are the age recommendations?
Age recommendations for most of the wooden railway system is 2 or 3 years and up. For 2 year olds start with the Oval set (rated 2yrs and up) and add on additional cars (which are rated 2 years and up). The 2 year olds find the elevated track frustrating and enjoy the flat tracks better.
